ABOUT US!

My name is Jessica & I started breeding poodles in 2018. I grew up with dogs my entire life, but when I had my first miniature poodle at age 14, I absolutely fell in love!! Aside from being hypoallergenic, they are super loving & smart. As I grew older, I thought to myself.. why not share this love with others.. and that’s exactly how it started. I absolutely love working with the puppies and getting them ready and well socialized for their new homes. I have 2 daughters. Carolyn & Emma, that do a super good job at helping along with my husband Endis. Starting from the prenatal process up until puppies go to their new homes, we all work as a team to make sure both momma & puppies are well and healthy.

ALL OF OUR PUPPIES GO TO NEW HOMES WITH FIRST SHOTS, DE-WORMED, VET CHECKED, & A ONE YEAR HEALTH GUARANTEE COVERING ALL GENETIC & CONGENITAL DISEASES

Frequently Asked Questions

Many people ask if they can see or play with our puppies when they are tiny babies. Until the puppies have had at least one to two set of puppy vaccinations, the answer is NO. There are several reasons why we do not let anyone around the puppies before 8 weeks old…and all those reasons are to protect the puppies.

Like a new baby, the opportunity for young pups to pick up infectious diseases is increased with all new contacts. Their immune systems are building, so at this time, the moms and pups live in whelping nests which are separate from all outside traffic. Most illnesses and diseases are innocently carried on people’s shoes and clothing. Entire litters of puppies can be wiped out within 48 hours by the puppy killer parvovirus. This disease could be picked up unknowingly by people in a school yard, a park, or on a sidewalk – and this is only one disease. We cannot risk exposing our dogs and your puppy to diseases that could destroy them.

It is extremely stressful for the mama dog to have strangers visit as she is caring for her litter. This in turn will put stress on the newborn pups.

Remember, you are only one of many people who want to adopt a puppy, not including everyone else who “just wants to peek at the new babies.” If we allow everyone to see, touch, or spend time with the new pups, the mom’s routine would be disrupted: her eating and caring for pups and even her ability to produce enough healthy milk for them could be at risk.

So, to answer this question … we do allow in home visits once puppies are 8 weeks old. We do offer video calls as well on a very flexible schedule when you would like to see puppies!

Here at Jess’s Darling Poodles, we breed all 3 sizes recognized by the AKC. Toy, Miniature, & Standard. Poodles are extremely smart and highly trainable which is why you can’t go wrong with either size. If you have smaller children though, we recommend a miniature or standard. The reason for this is, toys can be very delicate and if they happen to fall or you are not careful with them, they can suffer severe consequences. In the links below you will find information on each size.

All though poodles are hypoallergenic, they do shed once in a while, but very minimally which is why they are recognized as a non shedding dog breed. That is still a favorable amount considering the heavy shedding breeds that exist. It is also harder for the fur to spread all over the surfaces around your home. Instead, it just remains suspended among the tight curls, leading it to mat if left unchecked.

Because every family has a different lifestyle and schedule, we like to allow our families to choose which method to potty train their puppy. There are several methods of which include outdoor potty training, litter box, and pee pad training. Below you will find very useful links to help you decide and guide you on training.

Just like a human baby, there is no definite way to tell what a newborn puppy’s personality will be like. Personality in poodles can be mostly based off of genes and parents but there is no definite way to tell which one will be more “calmer” or “energetic” when they are newborn. This starts to usually be seen around the 6-7 week mark.

Kennel Club paperwork is mostly used for commercial use meaning either to breed or for show purposes, which is why at the moment, we are only offering limited AKC paperwork on our standard poodles for those interested in entering their poodle in AKC events such as: Obedience, Agility, Tracking, Hunting Tests, Herding, Scentwork, Trick Dog, and many more. Our toys and minis are to be PETS only, meaning they are to be only a fur baby to love and care for.

Puppies are ready to be picked up at 8 weeks old. In some cases, we might have to keep the puppy up until 10-12 weeks depending on size and weight. Puppies have to be at least a pound and a half to go to their new home!!
